Henry Hudson was exploring the New World to locate among other things, a passage to the Far East. He traveled up a large river later known the Hudson River. The river was named after him. Upon sailing up this river he discovered that it was not a passage to the far east.
because he was trying to find a faster way from Europe to the Far East.
Henry Hudson was on an exploration mission to find a shortcut to the riches of the Far East. He sailed up what is now the Hudson River, as he believed he was on the right track. He soon came to the almost end of the river which was narrow. This ended his time on that river, which is named after him. Hudson explored the river in 1609.
As far as I know, A river's mouth is simply called the 'river mouth'!
A river does not form a harbor. However, the Hudson River is the one that goes as far as the NYC harbor.

As far as I am familiar, there is no Argus River in Spain. If, perhaps, you meant the Tagus River (Río Tajo in Spanish), the river has its source and most of its length in Spain, but its mouth is in Portugal.
