Honestly, space doesn't need a black hole to take space away. Everytime a sun/star dies, dark matter expands. Therefore space is taken away anyways.

How fast does space junk travel in space?

Orbital velocity is about 27,358 KPH or 17,000 MPH. If space junk is going less than that fast it will fall back to Earth. If the junk was part of an interplanetary mission it is going away from Earth at more 40,233 KPH or 25,000 MPH.

What is a collapsed object in space that has tremendously strong gravity?

A black hole. Theoretically it was a very large mass which collapsed into itself leaving a very large amount of mass in a very small amount of space. This creates a very strong gravitational pull. In fact once inside the Horizon (certain point away from the middle) of the black hole not even light is fast enough to escape. It could also be a neutron star.

How fast does an orbiting space shuttle go?

About 18,000 mph. The exact speed depends on the exact orbital height. If the orbit is not circular the speed will vary in different parts of the orbit.

How do quasars regulate the growth of black holes?

A quasar is a disk of superheated material falling into a supermassive black hole. The radiation from a quasar is so intense that it actually pushes matter away from the black hole, preventing it from falling in. This process limits how fast a black hole can grow.
