Depends. The original, Soviet, military AK47 is capable of full auto fire- pull trigger, shoots until you release trigger. However, the majority of the civilian versions of the AK47 are semi auto- 1 pull, 1 shot.
If by fast you mean rate of fire- thre have been rifles that can fire 3000 shots per minute. But not the AK47. If you mean the speed of the bullet, I have one that shoots at 4500 feet per second. But it is not the AK47. The AK has no great power, speed nor accuracy. It is cheap to make, works in harsh environments, can be used by a poorly trained soldier.

the companies always exaggerate a little when they talk about how fast the fps is. also, it might have a higher fps when it is in single fire rather than full auto
On full auto about 850 rounds per minute. However, the M2 was the full auto - the M1 was semi auto only, and the rate of fire was as fast as one could pull the trigger.
For the military version of the AK47, when fired in the full auto mode, the rate of fire is 600 rounds per minute, or 10 rounds per second. In the semi-automatic mode, it fires 1 shot for each trigger pull.
If you mean more controllable during full auto fire, the Thompson would get my vote. Slightly heavier gun, lower energy cartridge, muzzle compensator.
The ak74 is deffinetaly the better choice better rate of fire and better accuracy. However 1 bullet of the ak47 does more damage than 1 bullet of the ak74. So ak47 is mainly for hitpoints and ak 74 is better for fire rate and accuracy.
The original AK47 was capable of full auto fire. There are semi auto only VERSIONS of the AK today, but the TRUE AK47 is full auto.Answer:The selector lever on the stock AK-47 has three positions:in the lowest positionthe firearm fires only once (semi-automatic), requiring the trigger to be released and depressed again for the next shot.in the middle position (full-automatic), the rifle continues to fire, automatically cycling fresh rounds into the chamber, until the magazine is exhausted or pressure is released from the trigger.in the uppermost position the rifle cannot be fired
(rapid fire) AK47 (single shot) FAL
Your question is sort of like "How much does a car cost?" Depends on the car, and depends on the rifle. If you mean a civilian version (semi auto) of an AK47, about $400. If you mean a legal, select fire (semi or full auto) M16, about $16,000 plus fees.
