The Aston Martin Rapide started production in May of 2010, but not in the U.S. yet.
Well, it's a great car; definetely. It is no doubt pretty expensive, and honestly you could get a better brand than a Mercedes, if you ask me. My suggestion to you is to do what I did. Last year when I was looking to purchase a car, I was willing to spend around $200,000 - $280,000. I saw the S65 AMG and the Bentley Continental Flying Spur GT, and the Maserati Quattroporte, and the Ferrari California, and the Brabus S600. In the end I decided to put a little more money in, and I actually purchased the Aston Martin DBS (the one in Casino Royale). My father took me to the Aston Martin dealer to show me the DBS, since he had the Aston Martin DB9 Volante. He loved the car, and highly reccomended that I purchase an Aston Martin. All in all, I am happy. I paid around $300,000 for the 2010 Aston Martin DBS. You should do exactly what I did. I'm not telling you to buy the DBS or anything, although it's a great car; I'm telling you to find the car you really love, even if it means putting a little more money into buying it. But, always, do not go above what you can afford. I do love the S65, and did buy it for my son for his 17th birthday. He loves it too. In the end, it's all up to you my friend.
Go for the DB9 or V12 Vanquish
It depends on what you want to use it for. Aston is better for cruising around but for performance I would go for the Porsche.
Aston's really are not comparable to Ferrari. Astons are grand tourers, whereas most Ferrari models are sports cars. As such, the Astons are heavier, more comfortable, and possible nicer to drive - but ultimately slower.
