Gay is a sexuality. Man is a biological sex.
Being gay refers to a person's sexual orientation, specifically when someone is attracted to people of the same gender. Men, on the other hand, refers to the male gender. Gay men are men who are attracted to other men. So, "gay" describes a specific sexual orientation within the context of men.

Gay men are men who are attracted to men, and Lesbians are women who are attracted to women, they both like people of their same gender, but they are different genders from each other.
This question is very wrong, I myself am gay and there are many straight very masculine men I am very attracted to. But some gay men like feminine men because that's what they are attracted to, everyone is attracted to different people.
Do you mean straight men getting close to gay men? Anything that leads to a better understanding and realization that everyone is different and can be respected is surely good! So yes, straight men should be friends with gay men, and vice versa.
