well it isn't a distance touch scent. they have very very good noses and that's how they find there prey ... what hapens is that somehow a fish is injured then a shark ,with the really strong sense of smell, comes along and smells the blood and smelling the blood it knows that it is an easy target because it knows it is injured. i hope that helped ; ) wink wink
