Not the best. Burns very quickly, generates a lot of creosote. A little bit used as kindling is OK, but would not use a lot of it. When we lived in Colorado, most firewood WAS fir- all that grew in that area.

pine is not good ans it is a softwood and will burn too fast and coat the flue with creosote.
Elm burns at medium heat levels, not as easy to burn and somewhat smoky. Not ideal as firewood. Not bad, if you have it, use it, but there are better woods if you are buying it.
The temp at which a fire burns. :)
A note of caution- since it is 2 days after Christmas- and folks may be looking at disposing of a Christmas Tree. Burning branches from a Christmas Tree, with needles in place, will result in an incredibly HOT and FAST fire. You have a very high chance of starting a chimney fire, setting your home on fire, and being called very bad names by your Significant Other. While WOOD from a Fraser fir might be burned (not really great firewood, but can be burned) please do NOT try to dispose of your Christmas tree in the fireplace. Best wishes for a happy, SAFE New Year-
quite good to burn indeed!
Various gum trees make for fairly decent fireword. Not as good as oak or hickory, but better than cottonwood pine or fir. Many species of gum are a pain to split, but once split burn OK.

No, it's very poisonous.
no. It is very harsh. fire.
Yes, you can burn apple wood in a fireplace. It generates very little smoke and hotter than normal firewood. It is a good heat output with a small visible flame and ideal for wood-fire. It is a safely and efficiently burned in fireplace.
shake the big light up fir trees
Wood pellets are intended to burn under a forced draft. They will not burn as well in a fireplace- why not use regular firewood? It is much less expensive than the wood pellets, and will burn as well in a fireplace. PS- a fireplace is a very poor choice for heating a home.
