in layman's terms, a lot (fyi ur average guy will have a hard time of it without a weapon), but its hard to give a specific answer to this question as there is a lot of difference in each persons bones especially when you consider age as a factor. From early teenage years to roughly 33-34 years of age (when your bones are at there strongest) the force required to fracture almost any bone in the body multiplies by a factor of 2.5 to 3 times. So Your looking at at least around 3-5000 Newtons of force, and for those of you who didn't do Physics in school this is roughly like having a medium sized guy jumping on your head.

so don't try it, your more likely to break several bones in your hand then to break someones jaw.

That probably depends how you break it. I guess you would usually break something by hitting it with something. In that case, the force is applied by the object that hits it.

How does newtons laws effect boxing?

1 In boxing a fighter will experience this law when being hit. Before a punch is thrown the boxer will remain in a balanced position. At the point of contact, the punch delivers a force that will knock their opponent off balance. The head, the neck, or even the whole body can be moved with the force of a punch.2Typically a larger person, or a heavyweight boxer, would apply more force in a punch. This is true because the more mass along with acceleration yields a greaternet force in the equation F=ma. A hard hit comes from a hard punch. The harder the punch the quicker it has been thrown. Larger boxers can usually throw the quickest punch with their mass and acceleration.3In terms of boxing, Newton's Third Law is closely related with momentum. After a punch has landed, the opposing boxer moves from the force of the punch in the same direction. Many would ask if there is any equal force acting on one another why wouldn't they cancel out? This is rather hard to understand. The two forces, usually called the action-reaction forces, act on different bodies and do not yield a net force.

How much force would it take to break someone's tooth with a punch?

It depends on the health of the tooth. Teeth which have been neglected for long periods of time can be damaged by normal activity (e.g., eating). Healthy teeth which are brushed/flossed regularly can withstand a substantial amount of force without chipping. It is what teeth are meant to do.
