Either a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic
5 speed yes....automatic no
if it was automatic it had a torqueflite tranny and had 3 forward gears and a reverse and if stick shift you had either a 3 speed tranny (rare) or a 4 speed.
It could have either a 4-speed automatic or a 5-speed manual tranny
Take it to the dealer
The El Camino never used the 700R4 tranny, its 4-speed automatic overdrive tranny was the 200-4R, and it came out in 1981.
The 1988 305 IROC-Z's had anywhere from 170hp to 220hp that could be had with either a 700r4 automatic tranny or a 5 speed tranny.
3.8L V6 with either a 4-speed automatic or 5-speed manual tranny
Only the Hybrid Civic has the CVT transmission. All other Civic's have the 5 speed automatic. Unless you have a Hybrid you do not have a CVT transmission.
