Child Abuse incidents have NOT increased, child abuse just receives more attention now. Many people overlook abused children, and just think the child has misbehaved or something. Child abuse remains 'secretive' and 'shaming', but with more education, more children feel safe to come forward.
There is evidence to suggest that child abuse has increased over the years, but it is also important to consider that more cases could be getting reported and recognized now compared to before. Factors such as increased awareness, changes in reporting laws, and improvements in data collection methods have all contributed to a better understanding of the issue.
"Child abuse is a complex issue that requires immediate attention and intervention. This thesis will explore the causes and consequences of child abuse, as well as possible prevention strategies and support systems for victims."
Martin and Fox (2006) suggest that the factors that affects the temperament of child includes the sex of the child (e.g., inhibited girls are more likely to change than inhibited boys), children's participation in out-of-the-home care (e.g., children who receive outside child care become less inhibited over time), and parental characteristics (e.g., parents who are over controlling have children who remain inhibited over time).
Repetitive behaviour would be performing the same action or in the same manner or state of mind over and over again. For example, an abusive parent that hits their child over and over again in different situations has Repetitive Behaviour. One that hits their child just once, does not. It can mean you keep doing the same thing again and again.
Yes there are. There are people that make bad choices over and over again. People have free will and some chose to do things like rob and hurt other people. Some people desire power and abuse that power.

The population of Illinois has increased over the past 50 years. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Illinois had a population of around 11.1 million in 1970, which has grown to approximately 12.8 million in 2020.
The National Child Abuse and Neglect Data System (NCANDS) reported an estimated 1,760 child fatalities in 2007. This translates to a rate of 2.35 children per 100,000 children in the general population. NCANDS defines "child fatality" as the death of a child caused by an injury resulting from abuse or neglect, or where abuse or neglect was a contributing factor. With the exception of FFY 2005, the number and rate of fatalities have been increasing over the past 5 years. The national estimate is influenced by which States report data. For 2007, several States reported increased fatalities compared to FFY 2006, which resulted in a higher national estimate. To some degree, this can be attributed to improved data collection and reporting, but all the causes of the increase are not specifically identifiable.
Food ( as opposed to non food) allergies or intolerance has increased dramatically over the last twenty years.
