Globalization has already affected different cultures around the world. The current situation can be called a "world-system" which has become increasingly complex as globalization has exposed different cultures to other ones in the world.

This exposure will and has influenced cultures because of the massive new contacts, faster communications, and more trade.

The globalization of the world and its affect on cultures over the past 30 years has changed cultures because of a number of basic factors:

* A new international division of labor. This is "new" and can be linked to;

A. A decline of the United States relative to the EU, Japan (at times) and a dependence on cheap labor in China;

* Internationalization of finance. There is essentially one global banking system. As it was once said " money changes everything" it does to cultures; and

* The growth of consumer products has impacted cultures in a significant manner.
