Best Answer

The farm tractor has made farming more efficient and reduced the time it takes to do things. For some farmers it reduces the number of farm hands needed to do the work. By reducing time of labor, how much ground can be covered and reducing the number of employees many farmers can make more money or at least not lose as much money.

Picking the Farm Tractor that You Really Need?

There are a lot of different farm tractors, and it’s no doubt that it takes a lot of consideration to figure out which one you really need. There are basic tractors, and there are state-of-the-art tractors. There are small tractors, and there are large tractors. Some tractors are priced reasonably, while others may cost more than you would ever want to spend. A few key thoughts can help you decide which farm tractor you need. Are you a large farming organization, or do you plan on doing a lot of farming? If so, it would be best to purchase a relatively large tractor. If you are planning on tilling or planting a large plot of land, you will want a tractor that saves you time. Large tractors are generally made for quite sizable farming operations to help them minimize the time they need to spend working the fields. If you are a small farming organization, you would probably be best off purchasing a smaller farm tractor. If you plan on using a tractor to plant sweet corn for your family’s consumption, there is no sense in purchasing a large tractor. Small tractors are beneficial in ways besides farming too - you can use a small tractor to plow snow away from your driveway in the wintertime. Besides taking the size of your farming operation into thought, you must also figure out how much money you can really afford to spend for a farm tractor. If you have a lot of money set aside for the purchase of a tractor, you can probably afford a large tractor. However, many times farmers need to save money for other farming-related things and therefore can’t really afford to spend a lot of money on a tractor. Do take into consideration what implements you will need to purchase to go with your farm tractor as well. If you are planning on working up some farm land, you will need a plow. If you need to bail hay, you will need a hay baler. Farm implements don’t generally come with the tractor when you purchase it, so do figure that you might need to purchase them.
