Pizarro was considered to be the father of Impressionism. Impressionism is a type of Art form in which the Artist examined the effects of light and shadow on a surface area without worrying about the realism of the object they were painting. Two types of Impressionism were present, that being the effects of light on flesh and the effects of light on natural surfaces. These two types can be named Figurative Impressionism and Landscape Impressionism. Impressionism was considered to be a lazy form of Art and was rejected during the Romantic and Byzantine periods, but due to Japan taking in interest in such Artwork, modern day society has classed Impressionism as one of the most influencial Art forms of its time.
