They didn't adapt to it. They always were in the ocean. In order for someone to claim an adaptation to habitat for a shark species that appears to always have been marine, they would have to prove a prior DIFFERENT habitat. No one has proved such.

Its teeth changed to match the enviroment and the creatures in it. Their liver is less fatty and they have a reduced skeleton.
