Asian art is the key to understanding ourselves more as Asians as well as the peoples of the other countries in our region.It opens our minds and hearts to the attitudes, feelings, ideas, ideals, customs, and traditions, as well as the values and belief systems of Asians.Studying Asian art makes us feel fully human. We learn to enjoy the creations of other cultures and we also learn to appreciate their beauty and other people’s ability to create them.Some art forms, particularly photography, film, and video serve as media for communication. Through these camera arts, we are able to keep ourselves informed about the current events and developments in other Asian countries.
