Monkeys have adapted by growing their tails, they act as a third limb and help them to grip onto trees. Trees grow very tall to try to compete for the sunlight, and many plants grow on the tall trees to steal some of the sunlight. Also, large trees have big strong roots to keep them stable, that grow very near to the surface so that they can soak up nutrients from any fallen leaves or dead animals. Leaves have jagged edges to keep away predators and a waxy coat to act as a waterproof layer.
