In 2009, I didn’t shave because I didn’t need to; as 2019 nears a close, I don’t shave for fear of causing my loved ones heart attacks. My beard is my face, my face is my beard.

Man, ten years seems like a lifetime ago. In 2009 I was leaving a career path I wasn't happy in (teaching) and really unsure of my next step. I was also a self described bachelor who would never have children and loved the solitude of his one-bedroom apartment. Ten years later, I have a rewarding career in software development, and tonight will return to his three-bedroom ranch house to spend the evening with my wife and 7-year old son. I guess what I'm saying is I've grown in just about every facet of my life!

Well, I was still in high school a decade ago, so there are a lot of big changes I could mention. I think the most significant is the relationship between my career and my personal life. When I was still preparing for college, I had major aspirations for becoming a professional musician. These were somewhat realistic goals as I did attend music school, but after doing a small tour with a band I realized that I didn’t want to perform for a living.

After a bit of soul-searching I found myself living in Iceland (I’m from the States), and met many wonderful people who taught me that my passion and my job didn’t necessarily have to be one in the same. Since moving back, I’ve been much better at finding joy in my work and in my free time, rather than giving myself none of the latter.

I Have grown a lot, especially in my knowledge of sports science, sport is my passion, so from my psychological profession. I build Knowledge towards football. 10 years ago, I was very unsure of what I was going to Do, so in sports I found my true passion.

10 years ago I was in a school where I was bullied, I thought I was dumb and I had no future aspiration. Now I am at a school where I have an academic scholorship and I am about to sit public exams where I am predicted full As. Never lose hope. Furthermore, I am ripped and obsessed with fitness. No one will everthink about bullying me again.
