At the time people saw the bombing as a most do. Years after the war, came the people with nothing else to do, but to critique the nation. These people argued about the bomb effects and the fact that those bombs killed a high rate of civilian casualties.
High altitude bombing in WWII was extremely inaccurate. An airming point was selected based on previous photo reconnisance and that meant that the bombradier had to find something on the ground that stood out and that could be identified through the bomb site. At Hiroshima, the T-shaped bridge over the Aioi River was selected as the aiming point. Detonation was 550 feet off the mark and with an atomic bomb, that was close enough to destroy the target.

The height that smoke from a fire can rise depends on various factors, including the size and intensity of the fire, atmospheric conditions, and the surrounding environment. Generally, smoke can rise several hundred to thousands of feet into the atmosphere. In intense fires, such as wildfires or large building fires, smoke may reach altitudes of over 10,000 feet. Additionally, factors like wind can disperse smoke horizontally or vertically, affecting its rise.
