You should hang a mirror at least 6 feet high from the floor when hanging it behind a dining room table. You don't want to hang it lower than that because it will reflect the table.
Because I am short, I like the middle part of the picture to be at eye level. There is a standard for the top of the frame to be 72' from the floor. up your bum
Unfortunately The Bombay Company went out of business. I used to work there and have the Montebello Mirror. I moved and a few of the panels broke so I am no longer able to hang it. It is not good t hang mirror on back of door according to Feng-Shui. But a sturdy mounting and strong support is necessary and preferable mirror should be small so that the weight will be less.
Mount the box one to two inches above where the top of the mirror will be.
8 ft from the floor
There is no 'standard' - a family where they are all over 6ft tall will want it at a different height than a family where they average 5ft. Try to make sure that the tallest and shortest in your family will be able to look into comfortably, and see their full face.
About 9 to 10 feet from the floor
Hang them exactly where the woman of the house wants them. There is no code as to where to hang them, it is your choice.
if it is a lightweight mirror, use VERY STRONG adhesive padding.

I use 40" for short hanging and 68 for long hanging.
