They do have a reason for that. Humans are not evil or cruel, hovever some are but i hope not every one. The reason is to do that is simple, we need the wood that the amazon jungle provides to us. They don't destroy it for a purpoise it is a "colletoral damage" of the deforesting. Hope It helped!

Humans are wery gready. They destroy not only the Amazon but any other forest they can. They do it mainly for lumber.
