Cuba is the only Full-Blown Communist country in the Western hemisphere and has survived the break-up of Soviet communism. In a sense its the only original-brand Red nation outside of the Russian orbit still around.

Cuba is Another Country that has lived under a communist government since the 1960's. The boycott of Cuba by the US has affected the economy and left it looking like it was in 1963. Cuba has Spanish as it's language, and the traditions/ culture is Cuban. As with other countries they have national foods and dishes as well as arts and music that is Cuban. This is how it is different and we need to respect the differences in culture and countries.

Cuba and the United States differ in three major ways, and other differences can be cited as well. Cuba is controlled by the leaders of the Communist Party. In fact, it's a Dictatorship by the Castro brothers. The US is a democratic republic, where citizens vote for their leaders. Also, the US has a free economy, controlled for the most part by private citizens and public corporations. In Cuba, the economy is planned by the Communist Party leaders. There is no free economy there. Major industries are controlled by the Communist Party. The population of Cuba is small compared to that of the US. The US economy is also huge in comparison to Cuba.
