Everyone's DNA is different, it is unique to each individual. Each base (A, T, C, G) forms a codon (triplet) which codes for a specific protein. These protein specifications then determine what will be your physical characteristics (your phenotype). Half of an individuals DNA comes from their mother and the other half from their father. Although someone may seem to have all of one of their parents traits, this is not the case. The other genes are which are not physically dominant are termed recessive.

DNA is arranged in pairs. They are composed of 4 chemicals: Adenine, Thymine, Guanine, and Cytosine. A and T pair up, and G and C pair. The order determines the specific code.
