God is no more pleased by the burning of candles than by the purity of one's heart. In fact, he is no more pleased by any form of sacrifice than by sincere, honest to goodness repentance of one's sins. God cares only for what is inside our hearts, not by any outward show of religiosity.

God is not pleased by the burning of candles in and of itself. However, candles can be symbols of prayer, worship, or devotion that can be pleasing to God when done with a sincere heart and in the context of a person's faith and religious traditions.
