According to scientists, as Iceland's glaciers thin because of the changing global climate, their weight upon the island's volcanoes will lighten, making it easier for magma to rise from the earth's depths.
In Iceland, snow can typically be found from late October to early May. However, snowfall patterns can vary from year to year due to changing weather conditions and fluctuations in temperature. Snow is more likely to be present in higher altitudes and in the northern regions of the country.

Iceland
Iceland itself is in a very unique geologic setting on earth. There are a combination of forces that are forming and constantly changing Iceland. First of all Iceland sits on top of the mid-atlantic ridge, which is causing the sea floor to spread apart making new land where it is pulling apart. This is a volcanic driven force that causes the sea floor spreading and magma does erupt in the areas that are spreading. The other major factor that is causing the unusually large amount of volcanic activity at Iceland is that it is also on top of a hotspot. Similar to Hawaii, for some reason there is a very hot section of the earths crust underneath Iceland that causes a large amount of magma to form, this creates the volcanoes that are seen in Iceland.
