What is the similarity between Barack Obama and Moses?

There probably isn't one. While Barack Obama's supporters love and admire him, it is unfair to compare him (or any popular president) to a religious figure. Moses was the Law-giver, a prophet who (according to the beliefs of Jews, Christians, and Muslims) was able to communicate directly with God Himself. Even the most dedicated Obama supporter could never claim the president speaks directly with God, nor could the president be considered a prophet.

Further, the president is an excellent public speaker, while according to the Book of Exodus, Moses had a speech impediment and was reticent to go and speak to Pharaoh. Both Moses and President Obama worshiped the same God, but Moses was a Hebrew, and one of the founders of what became the Jewish religion, while Mr. Obama is from the Christian tradition. Both were certainly considered leaders, but the role of Moses was not political-- it was spiritual, and involved leading the Israelites out of Egypt and into the Promised Land; Mr. Obama, on the other hand, is from the world of politics, and his role is leading the United States government. Thus, these are two different men with two very different missions in life.

Well let me start off saying that i am a freshmen at Oakhaven early college high school and i think that Moses is compared to Barack Obama because Moses received the ten commendments and Barack Obama was the first afican American president.
