The R-134a is used to recharge the AC units on your car. This is a bottle of compressed R-134a that will work in recharging the system it still has coolant remaining. If not the system willed need to be vacuumed to remove air and moisture before recharging.
All of your charging to your ac system is done through your low side port. The low side service port is located in the line that runs from the compressor through the evaporator (firewall) and up the condensor on the low pressure (suction) side of the system. R134a recharge hoses will only fit on the low side service port on all R134a vehicles and R-12 vehicles that have been converted to R134a.
There may be a difference in how each gas effects different seals & gaskets, so they probably should be changed to compatible items. But the cost may not be worth changing until there is a problem if any, then get a recon done. On a vehicle or house system, pump out the Freon r12 into a gas bottle (well vacuum the bottle 1st really to suck it in). Then pump in R134a (well vacuum the aircon system & then it sucks in the R134a). Or - just ask a Refridgeration maintenance guy to filler-up & check for leaks.
Recharge is for extending the validity on the card whereas Top up is when u still have validity but no currency.. top up does not increase your validity whereas recharge does..
You will have do a few things to get to the valve to recharge or refill your R134a (freon). Step #1: You need to raise (jack up) the<front driver side>of your Lincoln LS enough to get underneath it. Step #2: There will be a panel/cover right by the front driver side wheel, back area(NOT THE WHEEL WELL)you will need to remove that panel/cover to get access to the valve. When the panel/cover is removed you'll see the input valve and it's pointing towards the front of the vehicle, but it's still located near the back/middle of the front driver side tire area. Step #3: Insert the plug/connector to the input valve and recharge your R134a/Freon and it usually takes 3-cans of 12-oz of R134a to fully recharge the Air Conditioning system. It might be better to buy the R134a with the "Stop Leak" just in case you have a leak in your system. But you do NOT need to buy the more expensive R134a as long you refill your AC system with about 36oz of R134a your AC will be "ICE COLD". If your experience your AC getting warm at times especially when you accelerate check your thermostat in your Lincoln you might have to replace the "thermostat" which runs around $15 and easy to fix/replace. I hope this was some help to you because I just had my AC recharge on my 2001 Lincoln LS 3.9 V8,and I thought that valve that's located under the hood was the input valve for the AC (R134a) but it wasn't so I had to ask my mechanic where it was and we looked for it found it in an unusual spot.Do the work yourself and spend about $20-$25 on R134a and it takes about 20-30 minutes to do the job and you can save around $75 instead of taking it to a shop. GOOD LUCK save yourself some money and enjoy your fully recharged "Ice Cold" AC!
add more coolant. if it is still set up for r12 buy a r134a conversion kit at parts store.
R134a
as in rains when summer comes they heat up which makes them useless. So try to recharge them.
you will need a set of A/C gauges. If you want to get a set up from a parts house with the little gauge on it, you pump it into the low side, watch the gauge it should not go over 41 PSI. if it does, it will cause major damage
R134a
Yes, if you recharge it on the high side, you could blow up the can using to recharge it. So it is very important to use the low side.
this is for focus 02 svt ! low pressure port is on the top of the accumulator bottle, which is in front of the right front tire behind the fender liner. If you push the plastic from the bottle side, it will pop out enough to let a hand get up there to the fitting. I skint my wrist when removing the filter :(
no they do not recharge at all, they might even mess your electronic up!or ect.,it never will work remember this iberia aka BEARY no they do not recharge at all, they might even mess your electronic up!or ect.,it never will work remember this iberia aka BEARY
