For a carbureted engine, it is located on the bottom right hand side (passenger side) of the engine block. Disconnect the one or two rubber lines attached to the pump. Carefully unscrew and remove the metal line connected to the pump. Set the lines aside. Carefully remove the two bolts attaching the pump to the block. Slowly remove pump and set aside. Remove the spacer plate(a thin plate that's in between the fuel pump and spacer) from the engine block by removing the two bolts that attach it from the block and set aside. Pull out the metal rod that goes into engine block, check it for wear, apply heavy mechanical grease on it and slide it back into the engine block, making sure it doesn't slide back out. Re- attach the spacer plate onto the engine block, and finally carefully insert the fuel pump back into the engine block, slowly bolting both bolts together in sequence until you see the pump evenly sitting on the engine block. Reattach the rubber and metal lines and start the engine, checking for leaks.
For a fuel injected motor, you must drop the gas tank and remove the sending unit assembly to change the fuel pump.
Remove the hoses from your 1978 Chevrolet 350 cubic inch engine fuel pump. Remove the fuel pump belt. Remove the fuel pump retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install the new fuel pump.
Fuel pump is located on top and inside the fuel tank.
Check the pressure regulator, fuel filter and fuel pump.
Mounted on the engine block.
on 1979 gmc 350 cu in engine the mech'l fuel pump is on the passenger-side towards to front end of the engine. it mounts just above the oil pan. follow the gas line coming off the carburetor. this gas line will take you right to the mech'l fuel pump.
which fuel pump the engine mounted or the one in the tank?
If your 1986 Ford E - 350 ( 7.5 L / 460 cubic inch V8 engine ) has a carburetor it will use a mechanical fuel pump
I am sorry but there is no such thing as an incline pump on the 350 An in-line fuel pump is normally mounted on the passenger side front of the engine under the exhaust manifold
inside fuel tank
to answer this we need to know what size engine and whether diesel or gas engine
Yes it can. If you look at the fuel pump you will see a medal plate that bolts to the engine block and the fuel pump sets against that plate. The plate and the fuel pump both have a gasket on them that stops oil from leaking out of the engine block. You also need to check the fuel pump, There is a small hole in the side of the pump that can leak oil out of it. If it is leaking you will need to replace the pump. Check the pump for oil leak while the engine is running.
No it will not. Now it will bolt right in there but the transmission will not work and the fuel pump in the fuel tank has to much fuel pressure for a carburetor
