a homogeneous mixture is one that is mixed in any proportion but a homogeneous compound is mixed in a fixed amount n both possess the qualities of homogeneity they loose their identity when mixed n become as one u cant separate them on hand u have to apply certain techniques to separate them.
In a compound the component elements are chemically bonded together in a fixed ratio. In a homogeneous mixture the components are not chemically bonded together and the ratio can vary.
