1. The tooth is numbed with an injection of local anesthetic.
2. The crown of the tooth is opened with small bur.
3. the contents of the pulp chamber (nerve tissue, blood vessels) are cleaned out.
4. The access canals in the roots of the teeth are cleaned, widened, and shaped using small thin files, and the canals are sterilized.
5. The canals are filled with a rubber-like material called gutta percha.
6. A filling material (amalgam, composite, etc.) is used to fill the pulp chamber.
Root Canal Therapy, also known as endodontic therapy, is a dental treatment for removing an infection from a tooth. It can also protect the tooth from future infections.
The procedure involves:-
Removal of inflamed or infected tooth material.
Cleaning and disinfecting the canals.
Filing and dealing with the material
Finally restoration
It is performed under local anesthesia and is painless
Can be done in single multiple sitting depending upon the condition of the tooth.
The aim of the treatment is to relieve the patient from tooth-associated pain, save the tooth and restore its structure.
i have no idea... im not a dentist.. but all i know is that it hurts =]
With successful root canal treatment, the tooth will no longer cause pain. However, because it does not contain an internal nerve, it no longer has sensitivity to hot, cold, or sweets.
Root canal surgery is done by an endodontist.
Yes they can, they did on me.
When it can't be stabilized
Yes.
Other types of roots include fibrous roots (found in grasses and other monocots), aerial roots (found in plants like orchids and ivy), and adventitious roots (developing from any part of the plant other than the radicle). Taproots, like those found in carrots and radishes, are another type of root system.
3 (the source is my dentist, he just referred me to get my root canal done on 15th)
what could have happened is that the root canal was not done properly, or the tooth was so damaged that the root canal did not work. In this event, the tooth may have to be pulled (its what happened to me about a week ago)
there shouldn't be pain
Yes, in Italy for sure.
Yes. I had a root canal done on one of mine when I was 10 or 11 and one on the other front tooth a couple years later, as the result of an accident.
It is possible to have more than one root canal treatment on a single tooth because some teeth do have two roots. The need for another root canal can occur within a few weeks of the original one or several years later
A dental post is necessary when a root canal procedure has been done on a tooth that requires a crown. A build up is done on a tooth that needs a crown and has not had a root canal.
