The enamel contains no living cells, but the teeth are supplied with nerves and blood vessels. However, those nerves and blood vessels can be removed during a root canal and the tooth will be dead, yet still function for chewing.

no because teeth are just made up of calcium.

ans2. Wrong above. If teeth were non-living, there would be no pain at the Dentist.

Your teeth are being continuously repairing damage. Most of the scratches and tiny caries are healed and remineralized by mouth fluids.

Your teeth are made of a calcium-phosphate material with an organic matrix.

A tooth is alive because of the blood vessels and nerves running through it. If a tooth's nerves die, it needs to get pulled.

Why has dog's tooth turned gray after root canal?

The roots of a tooth provide blood to the tooth and gum to keep the tooth alive. After a root canal the pulp and root are removed which essentially kills the tooth. It's a better alternative to kill a tooth with advanced decay than remove it, especially for dogs that consume hard foods.

How long after root canal treatment on a tooth should it take to deaden the tooth?

What should you do if you had a root canal about 4 months ago and the filling fell out?

have it filled again. Or have a crown placed. When the root is removed the tooth is dead, making it brittle. there is no blood supply keeping the tooth alive anymore. A crown will keep the remaining tooth structure together so it doesn't fall apart.
