Because it was a big tsunami Yes it was a big tsunami, but it was originally the earthquake that done the damage. Because of the 8.9/9.0 earthquake, the tsunami was created and destroyed Japan.
The water was so high it drowned alot of people
because of its wave
it floods stuff and knocks over buildings
well te earthquake caused the tsunami to hit so the earthquake did the most damage
i think the 13th or the 12th i live in japan so yeah.Actually on the 13th of Japan. My Uncle lives there.
One occurred in Japan just last week, on March 11, 2011. It was triggered by a 9.0-magnitude earthquake that shook beneath the Pacific Ocean close to Japan. The tsunami ran 500 mph until it hit land, and the impact was so hard that California received tsunami warnings too. A tsunami hit Hawaii, and another hit Southern Cali. It didn't cause much damage to California, except for Crescent City and San Pedro.
yes it's possible beacuase you can never know if the Tsunami can hapem so yes
Tsunamis don't have names <----- by someone i don't know ok well right now i am someone else improving this question :) the earthquake was called 'the great east japan earthquake' so i guess its called 'the great east japan tsunami. <----- by ME

So much damage was done, that some people are still recovering:/
Japan was very close to the epicenter of the earthquake; many of their buildings were damaged by the earthquake itself. Parts of the coast line were depressed and indented. Japan is an island nation, and much of the country is at or below sea level anyway. Because of this, the tsunami was able flood farther inland and because of the land features that were altered by the earthquake, the water did not recede.
there was tsunami because the earthquake had a high magnitude,so made big that caused the tsunami
If 0 is good and 10 is bad, then according to me its 7.5 to 8, because of the tsunami , the market in japan was gone, and that too so much of the development has come down to 50 % .
i think the 13th or the 12th i live in japan so yeah.Actually on the 13th of Japan. My Uncle lives there.
The tsunami that hit Japan hit many parts of it. So there are a lot of different measurements. Please be more specific.
