How is an alligator the coolest dinosaur ever if it is not a dinosaur?

Certain reptiles such as the alligator, the crocodile, and the Komodo dragon, have a remarkable resemblance to dinosaurs, although they are not as large as the larger dinosaurs used to be. Perhaps the cool thing about them is that while the larger dinosaurs of the Age of Reptiles died out 65 million years ago, these species did not die out, and are still with out today, for us to enjoy, and so that we can use their skin to make elegant handbags and shoes. Cool!
