Oxygen molecule and ozone are made from the same oxygen atom. However, the main difference being oxygen molecule is made up of 2 atoms of oxygen while ozone is made up of 3. It is the triatomic form of oxygen.

An oxygen molecule has two atoms of oxygen (O2). Ozone has three atoms of oxygen (O3).

The oxidation potential of ozone (2.07) is much higher than that of oxygen (1.23), so it can drive some oxidation processes much faster than oxygen alone. The densities are also different.
