Antarctica is one of only two island continents, making it very isolated. It is centered on the South Pole and is the coldest place on Earth, as well as the largest desert (it is considered a cold desert). It is also home to many unique animals, such as many species of penguins, seals such as the Crabeater seal, and the leopard seal. Many whales migrate there during the summer to eat krill, which come from Antarctica.
