It is passive because it does not require energy when moving molecules. It is passive because it does not require energy when moving molecules. There is both active and passive transport. If it is going against the concentration gradient it is active transport. If it is not acting against the concentration gradient it is passive transport.

1- three sodium ions enter the channel from within the cell( intracellular Na2+)

2-ATP polyphosphates the channel causing it to pump the three sodium ions out from the cell

3-two potassium ions enter the channel from the outside (extracellular K+)

4-the now unphosphorylated channel pumps the 2 potassium ions into the cell

Ions cannot pass though the hydrophobic interior of the lipid membrane so channels are necessary for both active and passive transport across membrane.

Either they can pass through the plasma membrane or the ion channels open up and let stuff pass through. <3

What types of transport require ATP?

The two types of cell trnsport it Passive Transport and Active Transport. Active Transport does require energy to move into and out of the cell. Passive Transport doesn't require energy to move into and out of the cell. Hope I helped!

Is the transport mechanism in the model cell passive or active?

passive

What are two ways the the cell moves things by active transport?

What type of transport is it when gluclose molecules move into a cell?

Is diffusion active or passive transport of particles across the cell?

Passive.

Exocytosis active or passive?

active

What is the purpose of a cell transport?

Cell transport is movement of materials across cell membranes. Cell transport includes passive and active transport. Passive transport does not require energy whereas active transport requires energy to proceed. Passive transport proceeds through diffusion, facilitated diffusion and osmosis.

Is cell transport the smae thing as active transport and passive transport?

they are diffrent, cell transportaion is the transportaion of materials in or out of a cell active transport is the movement of a molicule form an area of low conentration to an area of high and vice versa for passive transport

If the substance entering the cell was in higher concentration inside the cell then outside the cell what type of transport would be required?

It would be active transport, a process which requires a cell to use its own energy (unlike passive transport).

What occurs if substances are too large to pass through the cell membrane by active or passive transport?

passive transport
