The majority of healthcare in the UK is funded by taxes. Everyone has a right to free NHS treatment - regardless of financial status. There are also privately funded clinics, for those who are able to pay for non-urgent treatment (and thus get treated sooner).

The only disadvantage with our NHS system is that people travel here from abroad (where they would have had to pay for their treatment) in order to take advantage of our free healthcare (commonly referred to as 'health tourism')
