How is poppy plant made into Opium?

Opium is not made, rather it is drained from the seed pods of mature poppy plants (of the opium variety). Once a mature plant drops its flowers, the seed pod becomes ripe after 5-12 days. Upon ripening, the seed pods are slit open (about 1/16 inch deep) with a sharp blade, and a white latex (opium resin) drains from the cuts. After it dries, it turns to a brownish color, and is collected by the farmer. The dried latex is then either smoked as is, dissolved in warm water and filtered (then evaporated to make purified opium), or the opium is used to separate the different opiate alkaloids (like morphine, codeine, thebaine) for drug production.

best way to do so is make poppy seed tea. get some poppy seeds (darker seeds are the most potent) (300g to 500g first timers start lower) and put them in a 2 l bottle. put in water and some pure lemon juice and shake like crazy for 20 or you can shake for 5 min and let it rest for 10 min and repeat and do this for an hour, the longer the better. also the darker the mixture the more potent it is. then strain the liquid into another container and drink it, u may want to add something to it because it tastes quite awful. Grapefruit is best because it increases the high. then in about 20 or 30 min u should be HIGH.. this is because when u shake the seeds u are removing the morphine and codeine of their shells.................................................if u want pure opium you can get it from their pods.. you wait 3weeks after the flower petals fall off, then you make 1mm horizontal slices along the pod with a razor blade, then wait for a few hours and scrape off the opium resin from the pod and let it dry for a few days, you can repeat this every week but each time you get less quan/qual..... hope this helped! jus be careful with the tea cuz u can OD and dose vary randomly with different batchs experiment first until u find the right amount to get u high

Well basically when the red petals of the plant fall off the green bulb of the plant remains. You make a small shallow cut all around the bulb and a white latex substance will come out and start to dry and in 3-6 hours a yellow Brown substance is formed which can then be scraped off the bulb.
