Philosophy is the reliance upon one's own thought process to explain nature and the supernatural. Religion may include sophistry, but from the perspective of Catholic (me the respondent), religion is a reliance on that outside one's self. In reality, the answer will change depending on the respondents definition of "philosophy" and "religion." Until you set the parameters of those words, you will get different answers.
Some people see it as being more of a philosophy, than as a religion. Of course, some people say the same thing about Buddhism too.
religion is philosophy
Religion and philosophy are related but not the same. Religion typically involves beliefs in a higher power or divine being, while philosophy is a broader study of knowledge, existence, and ethics. Some aspects of religion may overlap with philosophical ideas, but they are distinct disciplines.
Daniel enjoys History, Religion, and Philosophy :)
Philosophy
Unlike science, philosophy is not based on observable truths or known facts.
There are many online websites that contain the philosophy of religion. Some of these websites include Wikipedia, Philosophy of Religion website, and the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy.
Religion
Belief in the same thing.
Accept the philosophy that anything is accepted wisdom. Because religion is something defiantly beyond reason. Philosophy and religion are always at war.
I have no idea Im wondering the same thing
No, philosophy and purpose are not the same thing. Philosophy refers to the study of fundamental truths and principles, whereas purpose refers to the reason for which something is done or created. Philosophy can help individuals explore and understand their purpose in life, but they are distinct concepts.
