Story-truth refers to the subjective interpretation of events that may not be entirely factual but convey emotional or thematic truths. Happening-truth, on the other hand, pertains to objective, factual events as they occurred in reality. Tim O'Brien in "The Things They Carried" distinguishes between the two to illustrate the complexities of truth in storytelling and the impact of war experiences on soldiers.
