Both involved attempted genicide of a hated ethnic minority. In the Holocaust it was Jews and Romany (Gypsies) along with homosexuals and others. In Bosnia it was the Muslim minority who were targeted.
The African Slave Trade of the 14th to 19th century has been compared to the Holocaust in the similarity of destructiveness on the communities that it involved, and the level of dehumanization of the subjects of both. Lesser parallels are the fact that both were primarily perpetuated by Western societies (though, there were significant participation by African countries in the slave trade), that both involved the movement of vast numbers of people far from their place of origin, and the huge number of deaths involved in both.
However, to call the African Slave Trade a genocide is not historically accurate, according to the definition historians reserve for the word "genocide"; anyone using such a term is seeking to use hyperbole or make a political statement, rather than a historical analysis.
With respect, they are not similar. Segregation is a means of oppression; the holocaust was genocide.
it just is
it was not, the Holocaust was much more organised and the victims clearly defined.
if an event similar to the Holocaust were to happen, then they would give it it's own name, like they did with the Holocaust.
Answer this question… They established a new category of crimes for actions similar to those of the Holocaust.
There was only one Holocaust, but similar types of concentration camps were around in Russia at the time of Stalin's power.
Holocaust victims.
There were no 'The' three, but three phases were: persecution, segregation and extermination.
segregation, deportation, incarceration, extermination.
well for one the Holocaust was the killing of Jews and segregation was just separating black people from white people. I don't think that we had concentration camps so we can try and kill off the blacks. hope i helped :)
They could be called years of persecution, or years of segregation.
They did not exactly number the solutions, but after segregation came deportation or expatriation, then sterylisation.
