No. Safeway is not owned by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (commonly known as Mormons). The private owners may be members of the church, but the church itself does not own Safeway.

No. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (commonly called the "Mormon" Church) does not own, operate, or otherwise have anything to do with Safeway. The only grocery stores the Church owns are called "Bishop Storehouses", where needy members of the community can come and receive free food produced and packaged by Church volunteers.
