well, owls have a specific type of wing structure that does not disturb the surrounding airwaves, unlike hawks who have an even feather structure, owls have an uneven wing structure that leaves the airwaves separated.

So owls are completely silent as they are sneaking up on their prey. The only glimpse its prey will have it right before it is snagged.

--Also, Owls have superb night vision, like Hawks, who are able to spot prey up to 1 mile away. Owls are made for hunting in the dark, and they do so by having huge eyes suited for darkness
