This is the golden question! Life has got very long history. The ultimate product of this long story is human brain. How and why has no answer. But one thing is for sure. This ultimate brain is mostly used to satisfy the animal instincts, unfortunately.
There are a couple of animals that would have a well developed cerebellum. One of these animals is the human.
They're not human, don't have a human brain, and don't know any better. (Plus, they like to eat stuff, like my dog.)
One different is the human have a larger neocortex than a animals. Also, the convolutions resulting in gryi and sulci in the human brain is sometimes not seen in a lower animals or is less complex.
The forebrain is the largest and most recently developed part of the brain.
The human brain is responsible for our complexity because of two things. For one our brain's cerebrum is so much more developed than any other animal. Another reason for our brain's complexity is its size compared to the other parts of our brain, that's why we aren't the most athletic or balanced animals.
