oxygen makes energy in animals. when there is a lack of oxygen in the body, cell respiration stops, and ferminantation begins; this is hwere the cell uses carbon dioxide for energy. this is a temporary fix only, though. it also secretes an acid into your muscles; that's what causes cramps. then, if oxygen gets cut off completely, the cells can no longer use ferminentation and the creature dies.

How is lack of oxygen related to lack of energy?

We use oxygen to burn sugar to make ATP energy. ATP is cellular money and without it many processes cannot occur. Depletion in ATP energy can be felt by lack of energy.

Why do lipids store so much energy?

They lack the oxygen atoms of carbs and proteins.

Why does your heart have to beat faster when exercising?

Exercising requires energy which requires oxygen to make. After the initial burst of energy is used up, not enough oxygen is being supplied to the heart so it then must work harder to pump blood. Therefore the lack of energy causes lack of oxygen causes heart to beat faster to compensate.

How do you account the lack of energy people who are anaemic?

Anemia often leads to a lack of energy due to reduced levels of hemoglobin, which decreases the blood's ability to carry oxygen to tissues and organs. This oxygen deficiency can result in fatigue, weakness, and diminished physical performance. Additionally, the body may divert energy resources to compensate for the lack of oxygen, further contributing to feelings of lethargy. Addressing the underlying causes of anemia, such as iron deficiency or vitamin B12 deficiency, is essential for restoring energy levels.

How do your muscles continue to get energy when you lack oxygen?

When you lack oxygen, your muscles can still produce energy through a process called anaerobic metabolism. This metabolic pathway does not require oxygen and produces energy quickly but less efficiently than aerobic metabolism. As a result, lactic acid may build up in the muscles, causing fatigue and soreness.

What is lack of oxygen?

Medically, lack of oxygen is referred to as, "Hypoxia."

When breathing stops from lack of oxygen is called what?

When breathing stops from lack of oxygen

What cause us to breathe?

Lack of oxygen in the cells. Cellular respiration requires oxygen. Without oxygen, the cells acquire the energy they need from lactic acid fermentation. (This is the cause of muscle pain after workouts).

How are respiration and photosynthesis related to each other?

Well they are both related because they both have to do something with energy, oxygen, and carbon dioxide.

Why does your body need oxygen to combine with your food?

Your body needs oxygen to break down food molecules and release energy through a process called cellular respiration. This chemical reaction is essential for producing ATP, the energy currency of cells. Without oxygen, this process cannot occur efficiently, leading to a lack of energy production in the body.

What is CP Asphyxia?

Asphyxia-- Lack of oxygen. In the case of cerebral palsy, lack of oxygen to the brain.

What gas is not present when lactic acid is produced from glucose for energy?

If a cell is switching to anaerobic respiration, it's because there is a lack of oxygen.
