There are three general mechanisms that govern the secretion or release of a hormone; humoral, hormonal, and neural. Humoral release is governed by the presence of certain ions or nutrients in the blood. For example, the amount of glucose in your blood determines whether insulin or glucagon is secreted. Hormonal release is stimulated by the presence of other hormones. An example would be thyroid stimulating hormone secreted by the anterior pituitary stimulates the production/secretion of thyroid hormone. Finally, neural release is governed by nervous system controls. The classic example of neural release is neurons from your sympathetic (fight-or-flight) nervous system determine the release of adrenaline (epinephrine) from the adrenal glands.

∙ 11y agoBy negative feed back. Foe example if pituitary release thyroid stimulating hormone, there is increase in the level of thyroid hormone. And if level of thyroid hormone increases, there is suppression of thyroid stimulation of hormone. ( Of course this is over simplification, as I have not taken into account of role of Hypothalamus in this, witch releases thyroid releasing factor.)

i don't really know if you mean hormone that human produce or hormone produced by body caused by plant, poison, drugs, or etc. In plant- usually some of those are addictive drugs or illegal. For example viagra (sildenafil) or (i cant remember this one- marijuana...im not sure), has chemicals that gives our body the hormone or causes the body to produce it due to the chemical component. High dosage can offset and delay puberty- in some drug, the poison mimic neurotransmitter agent causing hallucination,, contractions of muscle and etc.
