Wavelength of violet is the shortest and that for red is the longest in the visible region. So for ultra violet the wavelength is to be less still and that for infra red it has to be larger than red

So wavelength increases as we move through UV, visible and IR.

Both are electromagnetic radiation, and travel at the same speed in any given medium.

But the wavelength of ultraviolet light is shorter than the wavelength of visible light,

and each ultraviolet photon carries more energy than any visible photon.

Visible light, ultraviolet rays, and X-rays are all parts of the electromagnetic spectrum, and travel at the same speed. Humans can see visible light, but not ultraviolet rays or X-rays. Ultraviolet rays have shorter wavelengths, higher frequencies, and higher energy than visible light. X-rays have shorter wavelengths, higher frequencies, and higher energy than ultraviolet rays.

This means that ultra violet and x-rays can do far more damage to our flesh than light can.

Only in their wavelength (frequency). Their waves are shorter than
violent ones, which are the shortest to which our eyes respond.

Why are the wavelenghts not visable?

Because there are no receptor cells in our eyes that are capable of receiving infrared or ultraviolet light.

Are ultraviolet waves purple?

No, they are out of the visable spectrum so they do not have a colour.Ultra means above or beyond. So ultraviolet is the name given to the electromagnetic radiation that has energy beyond violet light.

How does blue light compare with ultraviolet light?

The blue light has longer wavelength, lower frequency, andless energy per photon than the ultraviolet light has.The blue light is also visible to the human eyes, whereas theultraviolet light is not.

How are light and radiant energy the same?

there both in the electro magnetic spectrum. the visable section is the colours we see and there are 3 other types on each end. the spectrum is : Radio waves Micro waves ( funnily enough they are used in microwaves) Infra-red radiation Visable light ultraviolet x-ray gamma ray
