NOVA NET ANSWER--------

calcium and phosphorus

Vitamin D is absorbed in the gut, then travels to the skin, where it is converted by UV rays (from the sun) to Vitamin D3. From here, it is converted in the kidneys to calcitriol (or 1,25-dihydroxycholecalciferol), which is the biologically active form of the Vitamin. From here, it goes back to the intestine and assists in absorption of Calcium from the diet.
