Your voice is detemrined by the size and shape of your head and many structures within it, such as the nasal cavity, sinuses, larynx, and vocal chords. These can change throughout life, which is why a persons voice can change when they go through puberty or have a cold. There is also a learned component to the voice. Some people may learn to speak more loudly or quietly, in a higher or lower pitch, faster or slower, or with one of many accents. Voice actors are notable because they are able to utilize many factors affecting the voice, and many muscles controlling its sound. Actors like Hank Azaria, who voices many of the characters form The Simpsons, can produce many distinct voices.
