RMS Titanic was 28 metres wide, or 92 feet (beam) and her length was 269.1 metres or 882 feet. It was 46,300 tonnes (gross). It was the largest ship of its time, but the larger super-tankers built in more recent times dwarf it. The now scrapped `Mont`, formally known as the `Knock Nevis` was the largest ship ever built, weighing 261,000 tonnes (gross), with a length of 485 metres (1504 feet), and a width of 68.8 metres or 226 feet.
