There is no chronology in the Greek myths.
Nom.
Athena was unborn when Metis was swallowed by Zeus.
because zeus swallowed her mom metis when she was pregnet of athena and then athena sprang from zeus brain...because Zeus's swallowed her mom Metis when she was pregnant of Athena and then Athena sprang from Zeus's brain...
If you are referring to the Greek goddess Metis, then some people would say that Athena is the daughter of Metis. When Zeus found out that Metis was pregnant with his child, he swallowed Metis in order to prevent the child to be born and grow up to overthrow him. After swallowing Metis, Zeus began to have headaches until Hephaestus hit him on the head, and Zeus' head cracked opened. From his head came Athena, the goddess of wisdom and war.
He swallowed her and from that event, he gave birth to Athena
Zeus swallowed her.
Technically, Athena's parents were Zeus (the king of the gods) and Metis (Titaness of wisdom and knowledge). It was prophesized that Metis's offspring would be more powerful than Zeus, so he swallowed Metis. However, since Metis was already pregnant with Athena, this did little good. Metis gave birth to Athena inside of Zeus, and Athena stayed there until Zeus, complaining of headaches, had his head split open by Hephaestus. Out sprung Athena, fully armed.
Zeus And Metis Athena sprung out the head of Zeus because Zeus swallowed her mother metis even before Athena was born
He swallowed her by biting bits of her then swallowing it DELICIOUS!!
No that is the father of Zeus Kronos who swallowed his kids. Zeus did swallow Metis, but he did not make a habit of it.
She was Zeus' daughter :-)----For more elaboration, she was Zeus' daughter, but her mother was the Titan Goddess, Metis. Some versions say Zeus was afraid of Metis bearing son greater than himself (due to a prophecy in which an Oracle said the Metis' first child would be a girl, but the girl's predecessor would be a boy that would overthrow his father. Zeus had done this to his grandfather) so he turned her into a fly and swallowed her. However, he had already seduced her, and she was pregnant with Athena. Zeus complain of headaches, and asked Hephaestus to split open his head. Out popped Athena, fully clothed.
Athena never saw Metis because Metis when pregnant with Athena was swallowed by Zeus.
